One really interesting production trend lately is the return to small studio spaces for filming. A Trip to the Moon was filmed entirely in Méliès’ relatively small studio. With the green screen era, we’ve seen a return to smaller studio spaces that manage to evoke extensive and rich worlds. Most notably, with Robert Rodriguez’s production of Sin City (2004) and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014).
